FUEL FIELD NOTES
Save the detour.
Pack the right way.
Fuel is ordinary until you need it miles from the pavement. Plan supply stops with the same care as permits and weather.
Fill before staging
Do the grocery, ice, potable-water, and fuel stops together. Confirm station access if your trailer needs a wide turn.
Use approved containers
Secure fuel upright, protect it from heat, and keep it outside passenger compartments. Follow campground and fire restrictions.
Match the machine
Verify octane and fuel requirements for every OHV and generator. Label cans when your group carries more than one fuel type.
Keep a return reserve
Do not plan to arrive back at camp empty. Wind, recovery work, and route changes can all increase consumption.
